Before diving into complex driver reinstalls or hardware modifications, perform these baseline checks:

The physical connection is the most basic check, but with an iPROG, there are several critical considerations:

Do not rely on Windows automatic driver search. Locate the Driver folder within your iPROG software package. In Device Manager, right-click the iPROG entry (or "Unknown device"), select Update driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list... , then Have Disk , and browse to the Driver folder to force the installation. Right-click the entry and select Update Driver
The Windows computer does not recognize the USB device.
Ensure you are using the software version that came with your hardware.
If you see a yellow exclamation mark, right-click and select Update Driver Manually point to the folder inside your iProg software directory. 2. Check the COM Port Device Manager , identify the COM port number assigned to the iProg. In the iProg software, go to Options/Settings Ensure the software is looking at the correct COM port 3. : Many iProg+ software versions are tied to a specific Serial Number (e.g., SN143, SN35, SN45). If the serial number in your config.ini or software settings doesn't match the hardware ID of your device, it will refuse to connect.
