If you have an original DSi, you can install custom firmware (such as Unlaunch and HiyaCFW) onto an SD card. This allows you to load the Flipnote Studio ROM directly onto the console's internal memory wrapper, bypassing the defunct Nintendo DSi Shop. Connecting to the Community: Sudomemo

Flipnote Studio is the original DSi version. Flipnote Studio 3D is its successor for the Nintendo 3DS , which added 3D effects, more colors, and more advanced features but is a separate application with a different file format (KWZ instead of PPM).
